The Vizio Reference Series, featuring a high-end, huge-screened TV packed with the latest display technology, is finally going on sale. For the price of a very nice BMW. Or 5.7 Camrys.
It is significantly more difficult to manufacture the panels in those sizes without defects. They cannot mass produce them the same way they do with smaller panels.
How the hell do they justify $124,000 price difference for 55 inches? That's the most asinine pricing I've ever seen in my life.

Remember the times when plasma was priced at 15,000 and now it's probably a 150.
I'm thinking it would go down real fast to around 1,300 in about 2-3 years time.
