Adblock has been quietly sold to a mystery buyer. On October 1, the extension displayed a popup saying it now allows EyeO’s acceptable advertising.
NRM: "Eyeo, the makers of Adblock Plus, have launched a new browser extension called Trusted News - basically working like Adblock for fake news content."
Spiegel argued there's no right to de-link its "unified offer" of news and ads.
When Facebook first announced it would circumvent ad blocking software, Adblock Plus (ABP) built a workaround in two days, boasting that “We promised that the open source community would have a solution very soon…This time that community seems to have gotten the better of even a giant like Facebook.”
Big G comes to mind.. You can never tell
Guy took an offer he couldn't refuse. UBlock
I bet it starts with G and ends with oogle. Owner was probably threatened too.
"Acceptable advertising" which you can immediately disable. The pop up even provides a link to do it.
