not sure about being scared but more about me too. kind of a dumb application using the xbox one to stream to a virtual room and not actual virtual reality gaming. they have hololens coming so that is where their investment is.

i see this partnership more about using windows 10 and getting the xbox one controller out there to the pc community and trying to cross breed the xbox one and the pc together.

having windows involved creates a bigger marketing campaign for oculus. morpheus is limited to the ps4.

You forget Windows PC is becoming limited too in terms of powerful machine just to play games. So not only you need Oculus that probably cost $200+, but also a computer to run! Not to mention also whole new Oculus new catalogue. Remember its not Steam nor Xbox Gaming or Windows Gaming from Microsoft.

Now regarding to PS4, they have 20 million marketshare.

Sony have created a singular cohesive environment. They are the only ones who can laser focus on a set of products. They have the "plug and play" advantage like no one else.

Hololens is AR, not VR, so I don't know if there will be real competition between the two or not at this point.
