SMC will reportedly begin mass production of the next-generation Apple A9 SoC from this month onwards. The report from China says that both Samsung and TSMC have completed trial runs of the Apple A9 SoC production and are ready to begin mass production.
The Apple A9 SoC is rumored to be Apple's first quad-core mobile chipset, using further enhanced custom ARM cores developed by Apple themselves. Also, the report suggests that there will be two versions of the Apple A9 SoC.
