A nice little quip of an article, but I'd like to point out a hard drive is not ROM (read-only-memory) since you can both read it and write to it.

ROM is more commonly used for things like firmware and bios that are not intended to be changed without manufacturers authorization.

Even so, the name "ROM" is slightly disingenuous because there are forms that can be erased and programmed (essentially written to), so the mistake is understandable.

This article is written by a non tech person for non tech persons in this DIGITAL AGE [unbelievable (@_@) ], and the most shocking part it features and gets approved on TechSpy. Even an amateur computer USER knows what is the difference between ROM (BIOS) and non volatile permanent storage (Hard Disk). It's like he is teaching computer 101 to children living in the jungles of Ghana (who've never seen one)....

"Even an amateur computer USER knows...It's like he is teaching computer 101 to children..."

I don't want to be that guy, but ... yeah.

Regardless of the point of your comment, there is still misinformation. Not providing full details is one thing, misinformation is another.

A decent writer should own up to such an error and make corrections.

@Knowtechie

How can you call yourself Knowtechie but not actually, know tech?

@Knowtechie - You still haven't corrected the errors.

lol @ ROM section being about Hard Drive.
And RAM being for "multiple activities" is quite a bad definition, when RAM's job is to store program lines in assembly and also their respective data. This "multiple activities" is actually just a feature (provided by the OS) that uses both CPU and RAM that requires multiprogramming (RAM keeps parts of the current processes) and time-sharing (each process use a certain time of the CPU, a slice of operation time), not it's actual definition.
And I rofl'd at "250Gb ROM (Read Only Memory)". Should at least have said EEPROM and say that you were actually talking about SSD. Wouldn't be completely right, but still...

This is for noobs and the writer is one of them.

I would stress that it is not for noobs as it is largely misinformed.
