I tried printing selfmade published works before from online, it was more effort than it was worth. Especially when it comes to archiving. Even with a laser printer, fanfiction can be costly to put on paper if you happen to go that route.
Honest question: When was the last time you went to a bookstore or a library?
The libraries in my area have an excellent selection of ebooks & magazines. However, I do have to actually visit them in person to sample their superb collection of music cd's.
I don't like using e-books there's nothing better than reading an actual book, much more satisfaction in my opinion.
Books are headed the way of vinyl. Be prepared to pay a premium in ten years.

Except for when it's fanfiction converted to an epub. I generally use night mode with the brightness set to it's lowest, that's what works for me.
Reading from a computer lacks the knowledge and comfort of reading from a book. A paper book can be opened and turned via, while a good electronic text is much more difficult to navigate.
