WhatsApp blue tick shows you when your message has been read

Looks like the Facebook effect is quickly trickling over to WhatsApp after they slowly rolled out a new feature this week allowing users to see when their messages have been read.

Why do people insist on using Whatsapp, not only is it $1 a year, it's so behind in features compared to every other dedicated messaging app.

To my knowledge it's actually free for many even though they do tell you you have to pay. They've got the biggest user base as far as I know as well.

Well yes, I do know they don't really charge the $1 because your first year is free and can go through loop holes to reset your account. But the features are lagging behind competitors, this 'read messages' feature has been around since day 1 everywhere else. Not to mention they only implemented voice calls 6 months ago.

Well its mostly because everyone has it, to use another messenger you'd have to convince your friends to sign up for it, and for them to use it regularly they'd have to get their friends to sign it. No one has the power for that kind of a revolution.
