I don’t enjoy reading on my BlackBerry Q5, I want a larger device but I do not know if I should get an e-reader or a tablet. What do you think?

Not bad. Had mine for a few days before Samsung wanted it back. Had the Z Flip for four days.
They also accused me of stealing an S-Pen but that was unrelated.
I would say the only thing you have stolen in your lifetime are a succession of hearts :-)

Simple answer here, Kindle. Period. Best tablet for this purpose period.
Then it comes down to this, do you only want to read? Get a Kindle E-Reader. Do you want a really long battery life? Get Kindle E-Reader.
Otherwise just get a Kindle Fire HD which, unlike tablets the article is talking about, has amazing batter life, a great reading screen, and is cheap! I have one and can read a book from beginning to end without the battery dying or my eyes hurting.
