Back in the days when web surfing was never about experience and not much competition existed, Microsoft had a ball with its Internet Explorer browser. Lack of alternatives compelled users to choose the browser they never liked. But with the incoming of browsers like Chrome from Google, Firefox from Mozilla and Opera among others, IE has found it tough to exist in a space, wherein experience is equally paramount, as is performance.

Just a change in name will not change the fate of IE.

Changing the name will remove the stigma I has. But that is only a temp solution. If they can't keep up with other browsers changing the name is going to do little in the long run

IE11 is pretty competitive though. They just need to start working to allow 3rd party apps. They've come a long way from the the trash that they used to be.

It's such a wonderful thing to develop websites and see them look and work exactly like they should as in other browsers.
