IRL: Choosing the Nexus 5 over the Moto X (and the Galaxy Note, too)

I enjoyed using the Nexus 4 during my time with it last summer, but its short battery life, glass back and quirky camera behavior made it tough to truly love. The Nexus 5 is theoretically a different beast: it addresses all those flaws while introducing huge leaps in performance and display resolution. I was tempted enough by those upgrades to buy the new phone and give it a spin on Rogers' network here in Canada. Would it be the Nexus phone I'd always wanted, and make me forget about other Android flagships that launched at the same time, like the G2 and Galaxy Note 3?

*Close Ears* Stick to Moto X, I Repeat stick to Moto X. Do not Deviate.

Speed-Racer3608d ago

Why? The Nexus 5 excels in most categories when compared side by side.

Devil-X3608d ago

sure it does, but my nexus 5 is shattered into pieces after falling of from 2 floors.

as if any phone was supposed to be let go from 2 floors . I dont care if they are in mythril or adamantium , at such prices no way i'm not careful with those

Because sadly it isn't available on the best carrier there is. Republic Wireless.

Speed-Racer3607d ago

Doesn't the Nexus 5 come unlocked? But I'm guessing you want some on contract?

0ut1awed3607d ago (Edited 3607d ago )

Republic Wireless is contract free. They actually implement a data/voice collaboration between wifi and cellular. It's a pretty awesome concept and even will switch over without issue in the middle of a call.

This allows them to make their most expensive unlimited 4g data and talk plan only $40 a month. Also you can change your plan multiple times a month (since it's contract free). Say you;re going out the country and only want calls on wifi, switch to the $5 a month wifi plan in a minute. Need cellular calling but no data for their $10 a month plan for a few days? Again only takes a a minute to switch

But because of this technology, you need phones that they have implemented the software possible to do so.

They are picking up steam so hopefully the are able to do it with more phones at a faster pace. The word about the company can't get out quick enough. It's no BS either. Check the reviews. Everyone is raving about them.

And no I don't work for them. :P I am Just a customer that realizes how awesome they are.

OH right I remember them. I don't live in the US so sometimes I forget about these guys :P

Will do. Gonna get my M8 soon.

Devil-X3607d ago

Yeah mine came unlocked though at a hefty price but guess he is looking for one on a contract to save some bucks initially.
