All these "conveniences" of social media are just easier ways for the government to build profiles of everyone. All the location check-ins, stores using "reward cards" which is just a way to track what we are buying. We are just making it easy for them. They are sitting back laughing at us right now.

No big surprise here. Or how about "Our NEW fingerprint scanner to unlock your phone!" Yeah right.

Do people think their that interesting to the government to be spied on? It really seems a lot of people find the idea of conspiracies romantic and seek them out without critical thought or treat the government like it's an all powerful/mythical entity.

The government is NOT your friend.

Well that would be his point , they aint your friend , so they are beyond caring about your private life with scrutiny , so long as it doesnt raise alarms and flags . Till then you're a lost number in a shuffle of data .

Big brother stuff is scary , but when people massively offer everything voluntary , is this even as frightening as thought decades ago ?

Most people have no need to worry. It's people that speak up or "get smart" about our government that have to worry.

NSA has been tracking things long before Facebook. Ever go on a trip, use a credit card, or drive by a traffic camera.... thats all stored in their servers too.

According to recent studies, the NSA can tell where you are at almost any given moment, and they can predict where you will go.
