This became apparent to me when I recently dropped my Nexus 4, shattering the screen and rendering the touchscreen useless. I immediately went to order a new phone (one that I had been planning to get anyway) and discovered that it wouldn’t ship for at least a week. I decided to turn my tragic event into a mini social experiment. How would the sudden removal of immediate access to the internet affect me? Would it affect me at all? Would it help me learn something about myself? Well, it did.. Some lessons I expected to learn and some I did not."

Something horrible must have happened in your past or you simply have a miserable life. How else can you be uncomfortable with your own thoughts?
