Geek: While Microsoft and Apple are focusing on putting content through into your television through branded set-top boxes, Roku and Google have taken a different approach. The Roku Stick and the Google Chromecast are two very different solutions to the same problem, and since you’re only likely to want one sticking out of the back of your television we decided to compare to two and see what you get. At $50 for the Roku Stick and $35 for the Google stick, the two are direct alternatives for one another.

Google Cast devices, like the Chromecast and Google Home cause temporarily Wifi dropouts for users around the world. The issue has been confirmed for routers from Asus, Linksys, Netgear, TP-Link or Synology. In some cases the router is totally inaccessible for a while, other users report the router only disconnects from the internet. TP-Link and Linksys have confirmed the issue.
This is getting old now, but every time I see it, I think the same thing. Why would Linksys or other router makers have to do anything about this? It's clearly a Google Cast infraction. They need to fix their intrusive garbage.
Specifically, Office Depot has the device listed on its website for that price, down from the $35 price tag it usually carries there.
