A fusion reactor?!! That kid better be working on flying cars soon!

GameSpawn3701d ago

This is fusion, not cold fusion. Fusion has been possible for years, but it still requires more energy (right now) to cause the reaction than you actually get out of the reaction -- which is why fusion reactors haven't replaced all the fission reactors all over the world. Cold fusion (a fictional concept) is the same thing, but at room temperature and requiring much less energy on the input with more on the output.

This is still a feat for a 13 year old kid and nothing to be overlooked. He obviously has a grasp on higher level physics and chemistry and deserves some recognition.

No where in the entire article does it states this is cold fusion. I think you just wanted to talk about cold fusion, or you are not genuinely impressed with what this kid did.

One smart young kid who doesn't want to be a footballer, or go on The X factor

Until a year or two when he realizes nuclear fusion reactors won't get him laid at least.

A wise man once said to me "If you chase women you'll always be short of money. If you chase money, you'll never be short of women."
I really wish he'd said it when I was a lot younger!
