Weeds star Mary Louise Parker to quit acting because of internet 'bitchiness' and 'meanness'

News - The American star of long-running TV series Weeds, action comedy movie franchise Red and the new comic book blockbuster R.I.P.D today told News Corp Australia, "I'm almost done acting".

Parker insisted she's too thin-skinned for the increasingly mean world of entertainment.

"I'm not really that into it anymore," said the 48-year-old while promoting R.I.P.D. "I don't know how many more movies I wanna do. I wouldn't mind doing a TV show again, I'd like to do a couple more plays, but I'm almost done acting, I think." (Internet, Web)

This is just wrong, we all know what kind of hell the Internet is.

Not everyone wants to bare it. It's how you conduct yourself that keeps you off the radar of the wolves.

Rule #1. Don't have a Twitter. Lol

How are these multimillionaires such as actresses and singers interacting with "haters"?

Instead of crying about it, stop reading amazon reviews, wasting time on Twitter, and watching TMZ.

100 pounds of Hollywood make up plus video and camera works. You do not want to see these people without any makeup.

So she is stopping because of the internet?... Simple advice: don't get on it. You make millions per movie why do you care what the fans say? Stop going to twitter, and various social media if you don't want to read what they say.

Because her kids are going to get on it and her kids friends will put her kids down for it. She doesn't want to be under a microscope. People are hateful and love to project their self loathing.

That sucks, but I guess that's the way it goes.

I'd have to say I agree with her, society in general has used the internet to take society back a step, it's unfortunate that such powerful technology is used for the dumbest of reasons.
webeblazing  +   770d ago
dont blame her she should do a few more and save up the cash
RockmanII7  +   770d ago
She'll come back to acting once she realizes what a stupid decision she is making.
