Cheap Android tablets and iPad to help tablet sales push ahead of notebooks in 2013

Mobile & Apps: "For the second consecutive year, the PC industry is expected to see negative growth as consumers continue to favor tablets over traditional computers. Research firm IDC forecast that shipments of tablets worldwide will surpass notebooks in 2013, and will outgrow all PC shipments by 2015." (Android, Gadgets, iPad, Tablets, Web)

The only reason I've been putting off buying a new laptop/PC.....
... is Windows 8.

I bet that if companies start selling their systems bundled with Windows 7 again, sales will go straight back up.

well 1000$ for a facebook tumblr masheen isnt justifiable when you can spend 300$ and get a tablet that does the same exact thing, it has nothing to do with OS.

All in all Laptops should be cheaper than the premium points some of them are selling at.

Hmm I wish I could say the same. My present laptop is on the verge of dying but I'm hanging in there until the Haswell line comes out mainstream before I make any final purchasing decisions.

Heard Windows 8 computers are locked in the BIOS/Hardware stopping people moving between OS's.

"Heard Windows 8 computers are locked in the BIOS/Hardware stopping people moving between OS's."

That is being dealt with, other operating systems, specifically Linux is is already in the process of being ready for a locked bios. there should be 2 options eventually, an authorization code (not ideal but better than nothing) and a way to disable a locked bios either within the bios itself or through a jumper on the motherboard. (for notebooks probably in the bios)
