US Cellular getting ready to launch Home Phone service

Engadget - Keen to capitalize on the ever-growing segment of landline cutters, US Cellular appears to be launching a home phone service similar to the Home Connect offerings by Verizon and Sprint. According to information we've received, all you have to do is plug in a regular cordless or corded phone into the provided base station and voilà -- you'll be able to make calls via US Cellular's wireless network instead.

Sprint closes deal to buy US Cellular spectrum, adds 420,000 customers

Engadget - Sprint was clearly hungry for capacity when it bought spectrum from US Cellular last fall, and it's at last getting its fill -- some of it, at least -- by closing the deal today. The carrier has officially taken possession of 20MHz in airwaves across Midwestern cities like Champaign, Chicago and South Bend, as well as 10MHz in St. Louis.

Samsung Galaxy S 4 up for pre-order at US Cellular for $200, ships late April

Engadget - Chalk up another one: in sync with Sprint and T-Mobile, US Cellular has joined the ranks of US carriers detailing their Galaxy S 4 launch plans. The mid-size provider won't commit to a more specific timeframe for its launch beyond "late April," but it's already taking pre-orders for a 16GB edition at $200 with a contract and a steep $750 contract-free.
