Apple's iOS Makeover Has Already Started

Everyday Digitals - Last fall Apple's CEO, Tim Cook fired the Lead Engineer and driving force behind iOS, Scott Forstall and made the Sr. Vice President of Industrial Design, Jony Ive, the head of Hardware and Software Design (Human Interface). There's a hope among some Apple fans that Ive's minimalist eye for industrial hardware design will carry over in to the iPhone's operating system. Yesterday the Wall Street Journal reported that the software and hardware teams have in fact been working together and Jony Ive is looking to bring a more "flat design" to the OS. The report cautions not to expect any major sweeping changes but a more conservative approach that will happen over time.

As long as I can do the tasks that I need to accomplish on my iPhone I'm happy. I think some people get too caught up with this stuff and forget that at the end of the day all that really matters is being able to do what you need with the device. android fans go on and on about customization but does that allow you to browse the web better or edit video better? I guess different font on your keyboard must make your tasks easier to do, right? LoL

Nothing new , in every hardware fields people loves to brag about option they barely care about and only a few savvy folks really use .

Plenty folks brag about being in an open and customisable system , only to keep using their fat samsung , htc or whatever coating and set of apps .
