Iceland May Ban Online Porn

Mashable-In a case of censorship for an ostensibly good cause — but censorship nonetheless — Iceland may soon become the first Western nation to use Internet filters to ban its citizens from viewing or downloading online porn. (Culture, Web)

Sucks for them.

No wonder the country copes with a shortage of men....
... when all porn is banned I'd consider moving to another country as well.

This just in.

Murders in Iceland have just increased tenfold.

It's all a scam, they want to force people to buy their homemade Iceland porn VHS tapes.

Did they forget that people know how to obfuscate names and use passworded rar & 7z file containers?

Fine... as long as they're prepared for the inevitable porn-withdrawal riots that will follow.

P.S.

Tasers have no effect on us.

The people there aren't cowards. They will protest and get the change they want, just like they did with their banking crisis and they are the only country out of the recession.

Their loss if they want to waste their post-recession banning porn.

as a species weve done alright for the past few thousand years without online porn.. im sure iceland will cope just fine. I see other countries following suit over the coming decades. I like porn as much as the next man (that shit can get addictive and i think therein lies the problem) Theres some crazy shit out there and i dont think its a positive force within society to make everything all so easily accessible to anyone of any age. People think censorship is a dirty word but censorship is necessary to grow young children into stable decent free thinking adult human beings. Think about it our parents/teachers etc censor the world around us all the time as we are growing up and without it we would be all too easily pulled in by the spin and bull$hit of the world. The young are easily manipulated... lets having some fuc$ing rules. If you want porn, having it blocked by your isp isnt going to stop you from getting it but by blocking certain graphic content you are adding to society, not taking away. Just my opinion, i know everyone isnt going to agree
