The Verge: Microsoft's Surface Pro tablet, due on February 9th, will have a smaller amount of storage space than expected. A company spokesperson has confirmed to The Verge that the 64GB edition of Surface Pro will have 23GB of free storage out of the box. The 128GB model will have 83GB of free storage. It appears that the Windows 8 install, built-in apps, and a recovery partition will make up the 41GB total on the base Surface Pro model.
I have the rt and storage is not an issue at all on my device. People need to remember the pro is designed as a business computer so it has different needs as the rt version. I do hope the price starts to come down for ssd soon though as it is still a high price.
I can understand liking what is still an excellent device overall . But at the price a surface pro will go some people are within their right to complain .
There were other solution for restore ... especially as a business and pro designed solution . This is not some silly cheap acer laptop with less half storage available for clueless folks .
At least , it wont be a reason for a boycott , as you can free the space as needed .
that only serial verified surface pro devices can get to, its not like they dont have the money to do this.
@gondee I'll take 5+ extra hours of battery life over 23G of storage.
The fact that people will let them get away with this is just awful.
