It was always going to perform well at launch, i wonder how it'll do after the Launch hype has settled in.

fatstarr4144d ago

I believe it will do really well, once it breaks into the market. I was explaining it to many moms over the weekend when I was trying to pick mine up.

ReconHope4144d ago

still nowhere near the hype or craze of the wii.

ChrisW4143d ago

True... Because at old-folks homes where they are still playing Wii Bowling, there'll be absolutely no reason to upgrade.

I looked at one the other day then realised i would realistically need to drop around £400 on something that technically looks the same as the phat PS3 that currently lurks beneath my TV.

Wii nailed it with a pricepoint of £180, even if you're not the biggest fan £180 was worth a punt for even the most pesimistic consumers, £400 on the otherhand simply isn't worth it.

Um didnt the vita sell a similar number over its launch weekend in japan, yet everyone was was saying itwas doomed even then... personally i think those sales are decent but just wanted to make the point...

cleft54143d ago

Without a monster hunter, dragon quest, or final fantasy Vita is fairly doomed at the moment. I want the system to do well because competition is a good thing, but things definitely look grim right now. I can only hope Sony has some big titles coming out for the Vita in Japan soon. A new FF game would be just what Sony needs for the Vita.

oh I'm only reffering to it's 1st week when it sold quite well over there, more infact than wii u has in the same time span, yet it still only got doom articles for it wtf? no arguing its japanese sales atm are abysmal though, and llooking at game release lists the wii u is aboughappen of to have a drought of games, its normal to happen in the 1st year or so of any consoles launch.

I never really bought into the whole motion-control fad. the Wii was cool and so was Kinect. Nothing ground breaking. Its been around since the days of the NES.
