We now have to purchase apps to customize our home screens and schemes, without hacking it.

Can't understand why Microsoft couldn't provide a native option for customizing the Start Screen. By far Decor8 is the best app I could find. However, it is true that paying for an app is quite unjustified considering that the end user has to incur the cost for both the hardware and OS as well.
