The average consumer wouldn't think of this, duping them into thinking they were getting more space...Microsoft played on peoples general lack of knowledge, probably hoping it would become another spec for favorable comparison.
Anyone looking to replace their laptop with this junk should immediately see the HD space. Even 32Gb (as I noticed when sufaced tablets were released) is peanuts as compared to the disk space available for even netbooks.
