So it looks like Samsung might not have tried to copy the iPhone
Cnet : Previously redacted documents presented in the Apple-Samsung case seem not to offer actual evidence that Samsung told its designers to copy the iPhone.
(Industry, iPhone, Samsung, Web)
who cares they copied or not , its the.consumer who will be benifited as we are the ones who are getting the things .This will never ends .Apple too has copied many features .End result is more apple users are drifting towards apple .
"What'chu talkin' 'bout Willis?!" Different Strokes for Different Folks --- --- What he's saying is that regardless of what happens in this case, Apple people will stay with Apple products and I'll even add that Android users will stay with Android. Different strokes for VERY different folks.
I'm with the former. I tried Android in the form of a Samsung Galaxy Note and just wasn't wowed enough to keep me from returning to my iPhone 4s (soon to be a 5).
From a purely legal standpoint, I mean. Would they still be held liable? They were deemed guilty in court...as they see it, they did copy the iPhone. So would they still have been if the court decided that there was no INTENTION?
I am not "hypersensitive" I was just screwing around with a post.
I think these patents need to cease though, "Slide to Unlock", "Rounded Edges" yet Apple takes Androids Notification Bar, and no one says anything about it.
If this goes through they will likely make a stagnant market, because everyone is going to own anything that is possible to make. Artist feed off of each other, an age old saying that is true, even in the tech world.
What if someone copyrighted touch screens when they came out? No one could have used them, aside from that company. That creates a market were no one can try to innovate the touch screen, and a monopoly by one company.
Bottom line, there should have never been a count for this, Ford made the first car, did they sue everyone else for using the steering wheel? Or the gas pedal? No, they just became a standard for the market. What Apple is suing over is such trivial, and mostly standard market features anymore.
a notification bar isn't specific to android phones. in fact notification bars appear on the PS3, OSX, probably windows (it's been a while since i've used a windows OS, so...), X360, etc...
so saying that apple took android's notification bar is a little silly.
it's a phone, you shouldn't have to add any more HDD space than the 8 or 16GB that's already on there. i personally have a hard enough time filling 8GB with music, let alone the apps that aren't anything more than 100 or so MB.
and, memory is RAM, so if you're going to troll at least get your terminology right.
@ziggurcat, there are different types of memory. MicroSD cards are flash memory. RAM is short for Random Access Memory and has a different use to flash memory....applications, the OS of the phone etc. If you're going to be a smartass, at least know what YOU'RE talking about.
Also, the iPhone is more than just a phone. It handles music, video, photos, apps, games etc. You can't fill 8gig with music? Plenty of people have far more music than you, and the option of expandable storage would be extremely welcome to them....especially if they also have a lot of video.
Can you guys not go one day, just one day without slagging off the iphone? You all talk about the iphone more then the android lol. Can't you just be happy with your own phones, and let others be happy with their phones? It's a phone for crying out loud. I have nothing against android phones and I know there are some really good android phones out there. And the iphone is also a really good phone. Can't you just leave it as that and stop being such nerds?
why would that person need to say that to apple when it's android fanboys - who clearly can't handle the fact that the iphone is a well-designed, easy-to-use product, and have to take every opportunity they can to try and downplay the device in an attempt to make their s****y product seem better - who are slagging apple/the iphone?
@ziggurcat - How is your comment any better than kopicha's? Pretty much took the same dirt road. Everyone has their opinions and you can't be mad at someone for choosing one over the other.
How does that make sense?
That's an Apple user's train of thought for yah

yea for lawyers and there cut and paste trickery.

Well Said.
Not sure how the legal system works, but can they actually overturn a court case especially if they find the evidence misleading?

Really? I have NEVER seen a drop down notifications bar on PS3 or Xbox....Or Mac OSX for that matter.
Now, I'm staying away from legal trolls.
I'm a happy Samsung Galaxy Note user. Looking forward to their Note 2, Note 3 .....
Oh Wait!!!!!!
