London to New York in One Hour: The Radical Air breathing Aircraft

Dailymail: It may look like a vehicle the Thunderbirds would travel in, but in fact this experimental aircraft could be the future of long haul flights.
It uses a revolutionary 'scramjet' engine that allows it to travel at hypersonic speeds.
Tomorrow, it will be dropped from a B52 bomber in its latest test. (Hi-tech)

That would be an absolutely ballistic experience, I say do build it. Question though is if us humans can take that much G-force.
LightofDarkness  +   282d ago
As long as the acceleration is gradual enough, sure.
Scenarist  +   281d ago
yup .. we can theoretically travel at the speed of light... as long as we reach that speed slow enough lol
UnSelf  +   281d ago
we can travel very close to the speed of light, something like 99.999% but not AT the speed of light
Gran Touring  +   281d ago
We can, the human body can withstand much more lateral g's than vertical g's.

@Scenarist

Actually we could never travel at the speed of light are bodies mass would increase to the point it would crush in on itself.
