PC World - Maxthon 3.4 is an alternative Web browser, one of many fighting for the small slice of the pie not claimed by Firefox, IE, and Google Chrome. It's free, has a trendily minimalist interface, and has several features built-in that must be implemented by plugins in other browsers.
Security experts have discovered that the Maxthon web browser collects sensitive information and sends it to a server in China. Researchers warn that the harvested data could be highly valuable for malicious actors.
Who else using this browser? I come to know about this browser today after reading this story :P
Maximum PC: Are you looking to try out a new browser? The latest release of Maxthon comes with a few tricks up its sleeve, including the ability to fast forward through any part of any video, even advertisements that you might be forced to watch. Maxthon makes this possible through what it calls Ad Skipper technology, which uses a combination of smart pre-fetching and a new approach to managing the browser runtime environment.
Maximum PC: Over the years, the Maxthon browser (formerly known as MyIE2 way back in the day) has spread its reach beyond Windows and into different platforms, including the Mac and three mobile OSes: Android, iOS, and Windows Phone. Wondering where the love for Linux is at? You don't need to wonder anymore, because you can now download 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Maxthon for Linux.
