HardwareLust: During Microsoft’s Surface press event yesterday, the company spent an enormous amount of time talking about their meticulous design process, the aesthetics, the functionality of the smart cover, the dual wifi antennas, and specs comparable to top of the line ultrabooks. Without mentioning the word “tablet” or “iPad” they drove home the fact that Surface is all a consumer should want, regardless of their needs. But Microsoft left several key components out of their presentation. Price? Release date? Signature or killer apps? 3G or 4G LTE support? Specific Xbox or Windows Phone integration?
With that in mind, our staff engaged in a lengthy email thread about the missing pieces, which caused fanboy loyalties to flare, and those allegiances to be questioned (though we left most of that out).
