By 2017, The Number Of Smartphones Will Increase To 3.8 Billion

MainDevice: In the next five years, according to Ericsson's report: the total number of mobile subscriptions worldwide (without machine-to-machine connections) will reach to 9 billion, 5 billion of them will be for mobile broadband; the global traffic will grow 15 times, compared to the current situation; WCDMA/HSPA coverage will reach to 85% of the world population; the number of smartphone subscriptions will reach to 3 billion by 2017; one third of the mobile PCs will have 3G/4G subscription and half of the existing tablets will sport a 3G/4G modem built in; the mobile data traffic will grow 15 times by 2017" (Industry, Smartphone)
