MobileSyrup - Google is right on schedule by releasing the latest Android OS distribution stats. According to the Android developers blog they now state that OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich powers 7.1% of all Android devices, up 2.2% in one month (May was 4.9%). This jump was most likely caused all the new devices that were released, such as the HTC One X, S, V, plus the carriers bumping up last years devices to the latest OS. In addition to ICS increasing, Gingerbread (OS 2.3) did also, now making up for a whopping 65% – up slightly by 0.6%. Froyo (OS 2.2) still makes up for a big chunk of Android devices, representing 19.1%. Thankfully Cupcake, Donut and Eclair are heading to Google’s museum by making up a combined 6.1%. The tablet-only Honeycomb (OS 3.2) has also dropped and represents a mere 2.7% (last month it was 3.4%).
