Gizmodo - I've been waiting for this moment for a long time and, at last, it's here: Tom Lowe has released his stunning documentary TimeScapes, a silent portrait of our planet captured with exquisite 4K cinematography.
i am wondering whether i should go for a download or for a buy !! :)
Oh, it's only 160 gig?
Pfff no biggie. Also need a projector to enjoy this... no problem.
just wait programmers will make a codec to compress it to about... 60gb
A 160Gb movie would only be good if you're projecting it onto a full size movie screen with a projector capable of handling such a resolution. Because you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between HQHD or Super-duper-uber HD our dinky computer monitors... and thus a waste of disk space.
Indeed. Right now the Vimeo preview already looks stunning as it is. You really do need something like this http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ss... if you want to enjoy it.
lol, "Pricing available upon request" means that I can't afford it
LOL. When I worked IT support at a high school, the bulbs alone for those standard projectors started at $500 bucks a pop....I don't see purchasing a projector making sense unless you are kinda well off and use it every day.
I'm gonna need an IMAX projector if I'm gonna enjoy it fully.
Well this is one way to prevent piracy.
