Until most people can afford it, 3D printing will remain a niche market. The question no one seems to be asking, is how much the printing material will cost and who's supplying it.

Toner cartridges for laser jets still cost $75 on average. Why is that?

I don't even print out color pics on my printer any more because the ink is so ridiculously priced. I imagine the polymer w/e that's used to make widgets from these 3d printers, will be even more stupid expensive. No ty.

I'm been using a laserjet for years. If you print heavily and don't care for color. then the cost of a toner cartage will be offset by the incredible longevity they usually provide.
