... those graphics have been touted and sucked off by the mainstream for so long Now...
It makes me sick that the next gen wave of graphics hasn't come out yet.

ChickeyCantor4034d ago

Because you know, getting the performance packed down into a mobile device is simply something we do the day after inventing anything that needs a big casing and vents to cool down.

SilentNegotiator4034d ago

Handheld game systems already nearly match their home predecessors 5-7 years later, so uh...yeah, no shocker there.

Army_of_Darkness4033d ago

They are fun for killing time but will never look or play better than console games.

Duh, PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware are old hat now...but still cool that technology has come this far.

-Mezzo-4035d ago

Agreed.

Even with all that power i do not see Smartphone or even Tablets being considered as hardcore gaming devices, they will always be good for Casual Gaming.

shutUpAndTakeMyMoney4034d ago

They could effect the long term sales of previous console which seem to be still selling.

mcstorm4034d ago

Mezzo a tablet could become a core gaming device if you can add a joypad to it and it has some AAA games to but I still think we are a little way off this yet. I have a surface rt and own a 360 usb controller dongle that comes in handy for playing some games like snes emulator or some of the games that enable you to use the controller and connect it to my 46" tv and it dose a good job at displaying them.

I agree at this moment in time they are not ready to take on the next gen consoles but maybe in 7 to 10 years time they could be what we use instead of home consoles.

adorie4034d ago (Edited 4034d ago )

Next Gen after this is going to be on a device that does it all... maybe even with being as small as a phone... Crazy times. Also, with Nanotechnology being used to construct materials from a deeper position on the atomic level, they're able to construct materials that is harder than steel and lighter than anything else before it. They could probably create a material that is better than silicon!

CEOSteveBallmer4034d ago

Maybe, Its possible but always remember, If mobile technology advances so does the PC and console technology. You can't beat a good old Graphics card for a High end PC. By the time mobile games reach PS3/360 graphics, The PC and Console tech at that time is ahead more with realistic graphics and I even think we are there with PS4 and xbox 720 with realtime looking like prerendered CGI

Xbox 360 had a good run. I thought Wii would be globally discontinued before this happened.

It's sad to see it go but some good things must come to an end. I met a lot of good people who have become longtime friends on the Xbox 360.

Tzuno2917d ago

I hope they will not abandon the manufacturing of X360 controllers, i find them the best.
