Why You Should Drop Everything And Buy a Nokia Lumia

TechtheWeek

The Nokia Lumia. A darn good mix of phones ranging from phones for the budget-conscious consumer all the way through to the money-means-jack-to-me consumer. With prices starting at around £150 ($220-ish) for the Lumia 520 and 620 all the way through to the oh-so-pricey Lumia 920 which could be yours for just £500.

Nokia have quietly been making brilliant phoens for many years, respect!

Thanks dude. Just was thought that with the release of the Lumia 520 and the 720 I should do something about them. Thanks for the comment

..but all you really said was that Nokia made custom apps that are better than the ones in the Marketplace. :k

You can't just ignore the OS having only-mainstream-apps and a surprising lack of games - even the very popular ones. The phone might be really good but the OS and app store arent anywhere near the calibre of Android and iPhone.

the foot print and the screen to phone size is to big, same problem as the BBz10, and the colors make an expensive phone look like a toy.

Nokia have lost heir way tying themselves to Windows was their downfall, they could have left themselves options like other phone makers who make Android and W

I think that there is a place for Nokia Lumia's but, they are not good enough to compete with the likes of Android/Apple

techtheweek4056d ago

I understand what your saying but I think Windows Phone OS is finally ready for the big time and could easily compete with the big boys. They just need to become more well known. Lumia's have a lot to offer the user in the form of the Nokia Apps Suite which has some very powerful apps. All it needs now is a more comprehensive app store

Speed-Racer4056d ago

Well there's your problem. The apps store really is the selling point. I mean, it's great that you have a wonderful phone but if I have no apps to use, what's the point?

Cueil4055d ago

The app store argument is largely irrelevant... most of the mainstream apps are available on the Windows Phone 8 marketplace and while it doesn't have the breath and depth of Android or Apple at the moment that's hardly a reason to shun the OS

Speed-Racer4055d ago (Edited 4055d ago )

Because we all use only use mainstream apps. Mmmmmmmm alright then.

Windows phone will have a future if MS can leverage Office with Surface and Windows on PC. IT managers in big business tend to be very conservative and since they are already captive to the Office suite MS is going to try to get them to adopt Windows phone and Surface tablets over Blackberry and iPads; one unified OS over multiple devices is really attractive for large corporations (and, frankly, small ones too). They have a pretty good chance to do that too imo.
