I upgraded my destop and laptops with ssd's and love it. Boot times and loading times are vastly improved.

The disappointment I found with ssd (besides the high cost) is that I didn't get any performance boost in any game. Other than levels loaded up way faster.

is the faster load times worth the high cost?

that to me is the main question.

If you do anything that is HDD/CPU intensive such as video editing then you'll get a slap in the face in regards to the performace boost you will see.

Take into account, an SSD will remove the bottleneck regular HDDs introduce to a system. If everything else is up to the task in hand then it is definately worth it.

Having your PC/laptop reboot in the time it takes to sneeze and wipe your nose is just an added bonus.

Idk its not really that high of a cost. I paid $180 for a samung 840, 250gb and I'd do it again. I just wish games would optimized for it actually make games run faster because they don't other than load up levels faster, but once your in, no change.

An SSD is definitely worth it. I have a corsair SSD currently and it is worth it for the quicker experience. I would not really recommend it for games but for large programs and the OS, an SSD is perfect. I do not see a high enough performance boost in games to warrant an SSD but the opposite is true on the OS and programs.
