Surface Review- The Geek Link

The Geek Link writes- After an absence in the phone and tablet market, Microsoft decide to come back with a bang. First the introduction of the new Windows 8 phones, and now the Surface. The tablet market has been pretty open to any company and we have seen them from Apple, Toshiba, Asus, HP, HTC, mostly running their own OS (HP and Apple) or Android. Microsoft decides not to just put any tablet out, but a tablet that will make you think twice or three times on what you are about to buy or what you already had.

I really dig the surface rt. I gave it to my wife for christmas and she loves it as well, though she uses it and her ipad pretty much equally.

As for me, I'm waiting for the surface pro.

I am going to pick up the pro, unfortunately I need to wait a bit after launch. I just don't like that the OS takes up so much space.

I got the surface Ft a week ago I had a xoom before and I have to say it wipes the floor with both android and IOS. Its fast all the time never lags it hangs and for media it is a better device than the other os's but it also has the added bonus of office and syncing with all my work documents and I can use vpn and remote desktop as well as add an external monitor and mouse to use it when doing real work from home. Add that to adding the Xbox controller to pc device to the surface and it adds controller input with rumble to your gaming.

I do see a plus side to the pro because you are not limited to only using apps from the market place and full office but I did not want my surface for that I wanted a tablet that could be a tablet and a home/work device every now and again which only Windows 8 tablets can be.

I do hope people start to see what the surface and windows rt devices offer over the other tablets soon as for me its a no brained.
