I have windows 8 and I love it! The start button is essentially the new start menu. I have to say though, windows 8 is more for the advanced users.

You mean those commercials where they were throwing around tablets and clicking keyboards on and off and on and off and the other with the little girl "painting" with an app didn't convince people to run out and get Windows 8? And the informed weren't ecstatic about the same performance or the tablet-focus?

Windows 8 is tied mostly to the PC market which has been in decline for some time. This should not surprise anyone.
Mobile/Internet is the future. Until MS takes it seriously they will not do much.
