I think this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The moment where he opened the door and you see space is incredible. That and when he fell out. I have a fear of heights, I would have crapped my pants man. This man has my respect. Very cool

edit: Nevermind, I didn't realize it was gathering data.

When I heard "Red Bull", I figured it was just a run of the mill stunt. But record breaking.

Abdou234203d ago

Okay, why did he fall ? they discovered gravity in space or what ?!! :) :)

Anarki4203d ago

Space Fairies........ Space fairies brought him safely to the earth.

It was a real question you know, i really don't get it.

fatstarr4203d ago (Edited 4203d ago )

there's no gravity in space unless there's a rotating mass or a black hole near by.
the earths gravity pulls things toward it when they are close enough.
once he hits a certain point the earths gravity will come into play like it should.

also he jumps from his carrier towards the earth. his forward motion in space is sending him towards the earth until the gravity takes hold accelerating him to unhuman like speeds.

if he jumped away from earth and used thrusters or something he would float away into free space
because if your upward force beats gravity then you go up.

Shadow Flare4202d ago (Edited 4202d ago )

Except earths gravity actually reaches quite far, and gravity was clearer still there where Felix was because he just dropped out the capsule, he didn't throw himself a certain direction. And he wasn't exactly floating in his capsule. He was seated and was standing quite firmly, no floating. Even if he jumped up he would likely start falling again.

If earths gravity didn't reach as far as the Stratos capsule then satellites and the moon itself wouldn't orbit earth would it. They would just spin into space. And Felix didn't go as high as either of those

There are gravitation forces even at that level.

TheFinalEpisode4203d ago

His balls are so huge that their gravitational force pulled him in anyway.

They were at least as big as that balloon
