iPhone sat in 6 feet of water for 6 months, amazingly still operates

9to5mac: There is nothing worse than dropping your iPhone…except maybe dropping it into a lake. That is just an awful feeling.

Dropped my Ipod touch in the toilet @ the Gym (clean water) buttons were hard to touch after a day it slowly became useable and then fully useable. I still dislike apple but I gotta give them credit...

No such thing as clean water in a toilet.

ZombieNinjaPanda4204d ago

Considering that the water that toilets use to flush is incredibly chlorinated, it's probably the cleanest thing inside the bathroom at his gym.

NYC water is clean as a whistle but its filled with poisons from the government

shutUpAndTakeMyMoney4204d ago

I would think an apple tree would grow out of it. Guess it's not true :(

Psychotica4204d ago

I got to try this, where is my wifes phone...

sikbeta4204d ago

It's a catch, you do it, your wife phone goes crap, you have to buy her one again e_e

fatstarr4204d ago

any electronics device with out a hard drive is capable of this.
let it dry
clean it
and if you can crack it apart and clean it with a solution
and get rid of all the impurities the water/ rust left behind

and it should work.

*source GBA games dropped in toilet*
*washed nintendo handhelds*
*old mp3 players*
*flash drives*

dirthurts4204d ago

Exactly. Water itself rarely harms electronics. It's usually the arcs or shorts that the water causes while touching the connections that causes damage.
If the screen doesn't short out, let it dry and you should be good to go.

ZombieNinjaPanda4204d ago

This can happen with any number of devices. I've read stories of gameboys surviving washes, gamecubes falling from several stories high and working fine.

They're just exceptions/lucky.
