I'm still rocking SDTV :D

For one, not a lot of people find 3D to be a must have feature.

Secondly, because of 3dtv's entering the market, that means a reduction in price in traditional HDTV's. I would say it would be best to go for a year or two-old high end tv then, as you likely will find a good deal on one (though I would also suggest looking at plasma sets as well if you want a large tv). At the same time, 3DTV's will pretty much make up the whole market fairly soon. As it is, they are entering into the mid range level of tv's.

Why do you consider a pointless gimmick like 3D a "necessity", as the tone of your post presents itself?

3D Tvs are just a trend and shouldnt be added into a top 10 category,and because their are tons of tvs that are better with out the 3D feature than tvs with the 3D feature

Anything that you win is better haha, you can say it over and over to anyone, somebody has a 52 inch tv vs you you still win for the sheer fact that you got it for free. everything tastes and feels better when its free.
