Stuff like this scares me honestly. One day they might come out with a system that's hardwired to your brain, and Google would be the next Skynet.

Yeah man :/. Google would know where you at every second and what you are looking at and doing. Its really creepy.

Just the other day, Google was saying they want to know more about us. They've gone from saying they want to make their searches better to outright saying they want more info from us. That just scared me so much.

I think this will be outdated within a few years as someone comes out with Project Contact Lens.

If you've got nothing to hide, then what's the problem?
Noctis Aftermath  +   408d ago
@thorstein: it will be many decades before contact lenses could do this, hell it will probably be a decade before glasses can do it well enough.

@mushroomwig: almost every single person has things they don't want to talk about or don't want to share with people they are not close to.

Would you share your street address, phone number or credit card details with people you don't know? privacy is needed in society.

@Mushroomwig

Patriot Act fan? The "problem" is called "privacy"

And people complain about wearing glasses when watching 3-D. This is gonna cause a lot of accidents on the road.
shackdaddy  +   409d ago
No one's gonna buy it so I don't think you'll have to worry about that. It's nothing like bluetooth or cellphones like everyone is saying.

This is more like the stuff you find in Sharper Image that seems neat but only a minority of people will actually pay to get...

The only thing I want is glasses that dont get dirty or scratch. I have no choice but to wear glasses because my eyesight is that bad. The opticians told me that even laser eye surgery wont help me much.

Can you see trough clothes? ;)

Funny, the more screens I see and the more interaction and information being pushed constantly and demanding my attention, the less I care.

We are handing our lives over to technology. As cool as these are, it's pretty sad. Google can tell where you are already, now they will see what you see if they want to.

So turn them off. It's an electronic device and no electronic devices can run without power. Or just cover it up and leave it in another room.

I find the prospect of never being lost most amusing, especially with my scatterbrained self.

Nice try Google, but I already saw what happened in the last Appleseed movie.

Seriously though, it is going to be interesting to see what Google ends up delivering. I want zoom functions !

Most definitely sure governments will enact a law banning this tech being used for driving/piloting.

Also at office meetings.

Expect a high number of eye complications and most likely someone suing for damages.
