Samsung Galaxy Mega, How Big is Too Big?

VGRepublic Writes: Most phones on the market today are still coming in right around the 5″ mark which makes a fantastic viewing area, and the others that are larger are impressive when demoing a unit but when you are actually in possession of the phone is that phone a burden more than a help? Most would say no, but those people are owning phones that, while large, are still below the 6″ mark as neither of the ones that are above have hit the market yet. Yes, you will get used to it, and from a business perspective it is a smart move to continue to push the envelope on how big people will buy as they can challenge the tablet market more and more, pushing them out, and owning the industry.

I remember getting my htc hd2 and every one said a 4.3" screen was to big I then got a htc titan which had a 4.7" screen and again everyone was telling me the screen was to big but when you look at most top end smart phones they are 4" or bigger.

I don't think a screen will ever be to big as it all depends on what you want to use it for.

The surface got alot of stick for being 10.6" but when your multi tasking on it it works better than 10" tablets.

If I can't fit it in my pocket... it's too big.

I'm ready to carry a much bigger phone in my pants' pocket. I have no problem fitting my Galaxy Note in there right now. Pray the Note 3 will have a 6.3" screen, just like the Mega!

How are we supposed to see how big it is when its a pic of a phone on a white background...it could be 2 inches for all we can tell.

well it was supposed to be a hybrid phone slash tablet so no. why not get more for you money? it may not fit in my pocket but will fit in most peoples jacket pockets or bag

I think if we stop looking at them as simply "phones," then it will be much easier to justify the great variation in screen proportions these days.

It all depends on the user and what they intend with the device. They are capable of infinitely more than what phones of the bygone days were, so why treat them like that's all they are?

They are portable computers that are telephone-capable.
