In other news, the same company suddenly starts outsourcing labour to China after learning about the huge salary savings.

Vyralize4107d ago

Now I need to outsource my time wasting habits to Asia so I could get some work done!

frjoethesecond4107d ago

It's ok to outsource jobs to china but as soon as someone outsources work there's a problem requiring investigation.

Some days I wonder why I persist living in this world.

Crazyglues4107d ago (Edited 4107d ago )

@ frjoethesecond

Ok first this is a serious problem. Here's why, when this person took the job he signed a no disclosure form. Meaning you don't show confidential information to someone outside of the company. (you can be sued for this)

Two it's also very dangerous for Verizon, why?, what if they were working on software that helps cell phones get better cell signal through software... Guess who now also has that tech...

There is a very good reason why companies don't share their tech and software & why employee's are not suppose to give out private information about the company

What if some guy working at Coca cola said oh, "here is the formula to our soda, and how you can make it cheaper using homemade ingredients."

How much do you think that would hurt Coke's Business?

Now back to this guy...

This guy was genius but for someone doing something so clever, he really made some stupid mistakes..

For one, are you that busy that you can't just log into the VPN yourself to get the work and then send it off, why in the world would you let someone in Japan Log into your VPN..???

How can you be that dumb.. come on' and your a programmer..

- That's like wearing a ski-mask and robbing the bank next to your house, then going back later to that bank and asking them if they can give you smaller change for all the 100 dollar bills you just happen to have wrapped in 10,000 dollar bank currency straps, with the banks name on it...

Speed-Racer4107d ago

@frjoethesecond - It is ok to outsource jobs. What 'Bob' did was wrong because he still collected full salary while paying his Chinese counterparts only a small sum of it. No one pays you to come to work to do nothing.

Crazyglues4107d ago (Edited 4107d ago )

@ Racer-X

Ok let's say he's not working on confidential stuff..

Then by your definition what's the problem, you paid him to get a job done...??

it's done and he got it done..

So if you called a plumber to fix your toilet and when he gets there he calls a homeless guy from down the street to come fix it..

He then charges you $300 dollars and gives the homeless guy $10 bucks..

Are you mad? -Because you didn't find the homeless guy or are you mad because by your definition he didn't do any work?

Speed-Racer4106d ago

Simply put, the job contract is between the company and Bob, not between a third party. If they wanted to outsource, they could have

SilentNegotiator4106d ago (Edited 4106d ago )

Everyone knows that making someone else do work and making the most money on it is only okay if you're a corporation.

But seriously, if not for confidentiality issues, that would be a brilliant plan....money for nothing and your chicks for free.

Crazyglues4106d ago

@ Racer-X

ok yes, I agree, I thought you were saying he was wrong for paying someone less for doing the same job.. because you said he collected full salary..

-but if you saying it's because it's not between a third party then yes I agree..

Speed-Racer4106d ago

@Crazyglues - Nah, you make a good point otherwise. The plumber situation would be legit once he is fine with it.

"Smart bloke."

Hardly, he'll be claiming benefits from now on and I highly doubt he'll ever be allowed to work in the same sector again.

Double_O_Revan4107d ago

Thats freaking great! Good for him.

360ICE4106d ago (Edited 4106d ago )

That is the smartest thing anyone has ever done about anything.

tayz4106d ago

This would have been the greatest plan ever...if he didnt get caught.
