Cnet - Less than a week after Apple was rumbled by Reddit users for including code to hide a court-ordered apology to Samsung on its U.K. Web site, the code has now been removed.

Walked past an Apple store earlier today and could see the armies of shoppers with iPads etc in hand. Honestly, I don't get it. What the f*ck is it that give people raging hard-ons for Apple products?

SilentNegotiator4175d ago (Edited 4175d ago )

Whatever force it is that fuels the intense hatred that drives people to make phallic references when describing people that like a product that they do not.

Why do I always feel like the only non-Apple fan on this entire website that has an issue with the certifiable anger that EVERY comment section on this website gets filled with?

YOU SERIOUSLY walk past Apple stores and start thinking about them being SEXUALLY AROUSED by the product they're purchasing? WHAT is your issue?

caseh4175d ago

Oh it would have made a big difference if I had said why do people get so excited instead of raging hard-on?

Honestly, get a f*cking grip.

SilentNegotiator4175d ago (Edited 4175d ago )

You don't have to be a psychiatrist to know that diction is subconscious. You did NOT say "excited" because you chose to say "armies of shoppers....raging hard ons." You have a shallow view of people simply for purchasing a product that you don't care for. You see them as a threatening force to your own view, built on primal drive.

caseh4175d ago

At which point did I say I don't like Apple products exactly?

I walked past an Apple store, it was literally rammed with people all huddled over iPads etc. My disdain isn't the product itself, its the ridiculous hype and attention it gets which was clearly visible by 'the armies' that had stormed the store that day.

Psychoanalyzing my choice of words to describe what I saw and CAPITALIZING key words in your response ISN'T big or CLEVER.

MikeMyers4175d ago

People stand in line to see the latest Batman movie, or the latest game system, or concert tickets. Who cares?

I personally won't stand in line for an iPad because I can wait but obviously some people can't or simply want to be part of the hype. Doesn't bother me one bit what other people want to do with their time.

SilentNegotiator4175d ago (Edited 4175d ago )

LOL @ you mocking my use of emphasis. First of all, this site doesn't exactly offer the use of italics, so yes, I used bold. Emphasis is an important part of speech, but you would CERTAINLY know that, wouldn't you professor phallic reference?

And if it makes you feel better, go ahead and pretend like I'm not right and word choice means absolutely nothing.

Your pointless RAGE towards a corporation among a sea of corporations (I guess because it happens to be very successful, since you were so upset by a lot of people buying one product) is your own burden to bear. This website would be better off if people like you kept pointless fits of misdirected rage to themselves, however.

@Mike
Really? So you don't automatically start thinking of them being being droves of primal creatures who are sexually aroused by the product? Huh....that's odd. Because some people seem to think that is the perfectly normal response.

You all seem to have pin combs up your &@*$ when it comes to anything Apple related.

2 years back most folk were willing to cut out one of their major organs to get an Apple product.

Nobody here seems to register information in their heads and blurts out the most obscene language to get the best reaction from folk.

The simple point is CONSUMER CHOICE. No one forces anyone to make decisions or buy a product but rather people choose to. Same way 90% of camera users buy Nikon and Cannon because they feel that they are quality products.

Lets be truthful here:

I DO NOT LIKE ANDROID
I DO NOT LIKE CHEAP ASIAN PRODUCTS
I DO NOT LIKE TREND RUNNING PRODUCTS
I DO NOT LIKE PRODUCTS WHICH LAST 1 MONTH AND FAIL
I DO NOT LIKE GOOGLE

I do not support the philosophy of cheap packaging, thick manuals, poorly design products and make a quick buck attitude of Asian companies.

I have been there hundreds of times with products from Sony > Google

Apple products allow me to achieve my goals in the shorted space of time. Maybe that's the selling point of Apple products in general, not the liquid nitrogen filled engine under the hood.

Will I bend over for people venting their own inner frustrations with choices they have made in their lives......... NO

You need...to calm down. Google doesn't make hardware for the phones they support. Even their Nexus line is contracted to specific companies. You say Sony > Google, but aren't current Sony phones being powered by Android? Also, iPhones are built on the cheap as has been documented a number of times. While the finish may look good, it doesn't mean it costs alot. While Apple may be headquartered in the US, they also outsource to China for cheap goods. Just because you pay these mind-boggling prices does not mean it's actually better than its competitors. From personal experience, I had a Nexus One for close to 3 years now and it has gone through the full works falling down stairs, falling in water, landing on its screen and what not, yet it stood the challenge. I am pretty sure if I had an iPhone, it wouldn't last a year in my hands.

With all that aside, I personally don't care to convince anyone because at the end of the day, they have to be happy with what they purchase. I am happy using Android and having options. The Android OS has come a long way and Jelly Bean is a cut above the rest. Why should I go to iOS which has barely improved over its last few iterations? The only thing I've noticed about it (iOS) is that battery life has gotten worse from the days of iOS4. Oh well.

@Racer-X sometimes its good getting things off ur chest. Telling folk what u think is one of them.

One of two errors there in ur speech though.

Google does actually make hardware, Motorola part of Google. They may pass the buck to another company to make their products. But they play an integral part in the making of them.

Same why BP didn't drill for oil in deepwater horizon but a company called Transocean did. But they were integral in the decision making.

Q "but aren't current Sony phones being powered by Android"

A They might not might now make the Android platform but the physical plastic injection process, CNC milling, track laying, assembly and many more is done by Sony.

Q "Also, iPhones are built on the cheap as has been documented"

A. If your going to make a bold statement back it up with bibliography at the end of ur speech. Or else its your word on facts. From why I have seen and read, components inside Apple products aren't award winning but the design, materials and external quality have yet to be beaten.

Foxconn the company who create iphone have good history of quality products even before Apple came. Sure Apple could make killer savings if they sent their products to be made at any Chinese factory who doesn't value quality but looks at quantity.

And the rest is ur own opinions which is how it should be on techspy.com. Not techspy gestapo, with the battens and belts at the ready to silence anyone who doesn't follow their own ideologies.

Speed-Racer4174d ago

1) HTC, LG, Samsung, Sony, and the list goes on is independent of Google from a hardware standpoint. They simply use their OS.

2) Here are your cost figures.

http://www.washingtonpost.c...

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1...

While there are obvious costs required for R&D, marketing, etc. it's obvious that $500+ for unlocked models is through the roof. Obviously contract phones are cheaper because you end up paying for the phone in the long run via your monthly bill.

Your Sony arguments solidifies my point that not all Android phones are crap, and I refer once again to the list at the top. While the iPhone maybe of quality build, I still don't get why everyone ends up putting them in cases...because they are so fragile. I don't know about the others, but the HTCs can take quite a beating. At the end of the day, I don't want to hold my phone like I'm carrying around a pane of glass.

The internet would have complained if it weren't their entire homepage.

But they shouldn't have changed up the page to keep it a finger-blistering tap away from being viewable.

MrDead4175d ago

And they still need to apologise for not paying taxes in the UK even though they make huge amounts of money selling their products here.
