Windows 8 Power Struggle: Metro vs Desktop

HotHardware: We've been looking forward to Windows 8's Consumer Preview for months. This, after all, is Microsoft's big chance to show what they've been working on and unveiling bit by bit for the past year; a chance to evaluate the sum total of changes and advancements baked into the next-generation operating system. We'll discuss some of the features of Metro and Desktop (aka Classic) separately, but our overall focus will be on how the two environments interact with each other.

Is it me or is the Metro UI kinda boring and ugly?

Everyone I know that's tried Windows 8 thinks Metro is terrible and we need an option to remove it.
Its intended for Tablets and Phones, PC users want the proper desktop which is far more efficient and clean

I haven't tried the latest build but I did try the developers months ago and found it horrid.

If there is no justified reason to upgrade to Windows 8 then its just a re-skinned Windows 7 that supports Tabs and Phones.
